Mega Saffira

At ESMOD Jakarta, she teaches across both Fashion Design and Creative Business programs, covering brand management, marketing communications, editorial and storytelling, textile technology, fashion routes, market research, and business planning. Prior to this, she taught at International University Liaison Indonesia across brand management, international marketing, consumer behaviour, and analytical and creative thinking for the Management and International Business Administration programs.
Before entering academia, she built her industry grounding across fashion, textiles, advertising, and marketing communications — with experience at TBWA\ Manchester, The Body Shop Indonesia, Textile One, Lifelike Pictures, and fashion houses including Sapto Djojokartiko and Danjyo Hiyoji. These interdisciplinary roots continue to shape how she bridges scholarly inquiry with professional practice.
Her research centres on traditional textiles as living cultural heritage, exploring how textile narratives intersect with contemporary fashion, branding, and knowledge dissemination within creative industries education.
Outside the institution, she is the founder of The Textile Map, a digital media platform expanding Indonesia's textile literacy and connecting stakeholders across its textile ecosystems. She has presented at international conferences, including the AUTEX World Textile Conference 2023 at RMIT University, Melbourne and the Society of Fashion & Textile Industry and Chiang Mai University International Conference 2025, and maintains collaborative academic exchanges with institutions including RMIT University, Melbourne, Seoul National University, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Her ongoing practice reflects a sustained commitment to advancing Indonesia's creative industries through education, cultural advocacy, and more inclusive approaches to fashion and textile knowledge.
